Tru-Blu Oil Australia Pty Ltd, a family owned Australian company with its origins dating back to 1979, was originally formed to manufacture viscosity index improver formulations for supply to the manufacturing sector of the oil blending industry. The company operates an extensive and unique purpose built blending facility capable of blending all types of lubricants and polymers. Part of this plant includes the world’s fastest polymer solubolization machinery capable of producing up to 20,000 litres per hour.

Our blending capacity is the largest in Australia of any of the Independent blenders, allowing us greater flexibility in manufacturing. It encompasses some 28 blenders ranging in size from 500 litres to 40,000 litres providing over 230,000 litres of blending capacity at any one time. This flexibility has greatly contributed to our reputation being enhanced as a reliable on-time supplier to our customers.

TRU-BLU is an International industry recognised toll blender of a complete range of Automotive, Agricultural, Marine, Trucking, Mining Earth-moving and Industrial Lubricants which are supplied to a number of OEM’s, other affiliated oil companies and wholesale distributors and are distributed nationally and internationally under customer private label brands. The company is the only in-house manufacturer of Viscosity Index Improvers, which it also distributes to other oil blending companies in conjunction with a comprehensive range of chemical additives (for oil blending) supported by the company’s established agents and distributers in other states and countries. Customers include Ford New Holland (since 1985) and Case Equipment, Yanmar Marine, Bridgestone Australia Ltd., Amoco, Briggs and Stratton, Echo, Lister and Sutton Tools and the company is the exclusive oils supplier to Melbourne’s world famous tourist attraction, “Puffing Billy” railway at Belgrave, Victoria. Less expensive higher performing finished lubricant blends, in comparison to peer products, are manufactured because the company has unique in-house abilities in manufacturing superior viscosity index improvement formulations, exclusive access to state-of-the-art chemic aladditives, solid long term overseas alliances that allow access to high quality base oils and a management and technical team which together total in excess of 200 years of oil industry expertise at the highest level. In our research and development lab our chemists are Ex Chief Chemists originally from the major Oil companies, some of whom have over 30 years industry experience with Ampol, Caltex and Mobil. This wealth of expertise within the company allows the company to replicate other products at will.

In 1999 the company merged with its sister company, the manufacturing and distribution business of Outback Oil Pty Ltd, which had specialised in producing and distributing oil additives and greases for the retail sector since 1979. The merging of the two entities created a company which would achieve economies of scale in manufacturing and distribution of its often aligned product ranges and transformed the company into one which was well-placed for expansion.
